Repetitive upper-limb exercises that struggle to hold patient attention

Mixed-Reality Rehabilitation for the Upper Limb
Aura XR is a wireless mixed-reality VR headset built for structured upper-limb rehabilitation, pairing 6 real-world ADL simulations with 6 progressive rehabilitation games. Every session runs across three modes — Assessment, ADL, and Game — so physiotherapists can move a patient from objective baseline testing to task-specific, goal-directed practice without switching systems. Aura XR connects wirelessly to an Android tablet, giving clinicians full session control alongside real-time accuracy, duration, and progress data throughout.

Repetitive upper-limb exercises that struggle to hold patient attention
Difficulty rehearsing real-world daily tasks safely inside the clinic
Motor and cognitive performance assessed separately, slowing clinical decisions
Patients rehearse 7 everyday tasks including tea making, pizza preparation, and bread toasting using recipe-style sequences that combine reach, grasp, and comprehension in a single simulation.
9 rehabilitation games spanning Easy, Medium, and Hard levels from Whack-a-Mole to Bowling keep sessions motivating while training reaction time, coordination, and precision.
A dedicated Assessment mode scores reach distance, speed, control, reaction time, and cognition (Stroop test, colour peg board, numeric sequencing) in one standardised protocol.
Wireless headset-tablet pairing lets physiotherapists set the mode, adjust difficulty, and step in with Hint, Pause, or Skip controls while watching accuracy, duration, and headset battery live.
Every task and game can be configured for the left side, right side, or both, with gross or gross-and-fine motor targeting to match each patient's stage of recovery.
End-of-session reports capture correct/incorrect performance, average time per task, maximum reach distance (X, Y, Z, both hands independently), and star ratings exportable as a shareable PDF.
